工学研究科、研究領域Gの国際シンポジウムでハワイ大学マノア校およびバレンシア州立工科大学の研究者の基調講演が行われました / Keynote lectures were delivered at the Graduate School of Engineering by researchers from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and the Universitat Politècnica de València.

2025年11月18日（火）、19日（水）に、大学院工学研究科、研究領域Gの国際シンポジウムが開催されました。このなかでハワイ大学マノア校のKevin Nute 教授と、ヴァレンシア州立工芸大学（本学大学間協定校・スペイン）の Camilla Mileto教授およびFernando Vegas教授による基調講演が行われ、約40名の学生・教職員が聴講しました。
On November 18 (Tue.) and 19 (Wed.), 2025, the International Symposium of Research Division G of the Graduate School of Engineering was held. The symposium featured keynote lectures by Prof. Kevin Nute from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, and Prof. Camilla Mileto and Prof. Fernando Vegas from the Universitat Politècnica de València (a partner university of ours in Spain). Approximately 40 students, faculty, and staff members attended the lectures.

Kevin Nute 教授は、最新の著書『Frank Lloyd Wright and Japan Revisited』に沿って、フランク・ロイド・ライトの建築設計における日本文化の影響について講演されました。浮世絵の構図や伝統的建築物などを例示しながら、ライトの建築造形との関連がわかりやすく紹介されました。
Prof. Kevin Nute delivered a lecture based on his latest book, Frank Lloyd Wright and Japan Revisited, in which he discussed the influence of Japanese culture on Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural design. By presenting examples such as the composition of ukiyo-e prints and traditional Japanese architecture, he clearly illustrated the relationship between these elements and Wright's architectural expressions.

Camilla Mileto教授 と Fernando Vegas 教授は、歴史的建造物の保全・修復がご専門で、この講演では天然土を利用した建築物の修復が取り上げられました。世界中で見られる天然土の建材としての意義と利用、その分類について触れたあと、これまで手がけられた修復事例が紹介されました。そのなかでもアントニオ・ガウデイ設計のフィンカ・グエルの修復過程は、聴講者の高い関心を集めました。
Prof. Camilla Mileto and Prof. Fernando Vegas specialize in the conservation and restoration of historic buildings, and their lecture focused on the restoration of architectural structures using natural earth. After discussing the significance, use, and classification of natural earth as a building material found around the world, they introduced several restoration projects they have undertaken. Among these, the restoration process of the Finca Güell, designed by Antoni Gaudí, drew particular interest from the audience.

講演後には質疑応答があり、会場から活発な質問が寄せられるとともに、講演者同士の議論も深まり、貴重な学術交流の場となりました。
After the lectures, a Q&A session was held, during which the audience actively posed questions and meaningful discussions also developed among the speakers. The event provided a valuable opportunity for academic exchange.
