マレーシアトレンガヌ大学と大学間協定の更新セレモニーを実施しました/Mie University Holds Agreement Renewal Ceremony with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT)

2025年7月23日（水）、三重大学はマレーシアトレンガヌ大学（Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, UMT）と、2025年大阪・関西万博の会場内にあるマレーシアパビリオンにて、大学間協定の更新セレモニーを執り行いました。
UMTは水産・海洋分野に強みを持つマレーシアの国立大学であり、2017年度より三重大学からサマースクールへの学生派遣や教職員の研修受入れなど、継続的かつ活発な交流を行ってきました。現在では、生物資源学研究科にとってアジアにおける重要なパートナー校の一つとなっています。
本セレモニーは、大阪・関西万博の「高等教育週間」イベントの一環として、マレーシアパビリオン内で開催され、マレーシアの大学と日本国内の大学との協定書交換が行われました。
On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Mie University held an agreement renewal ceremony with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) at the Malaysia Pavilion, located within the venue of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
UMT is a Malaysian national university with a strong focus on fisheries and marine sciences. Since fiscal year 2017, the two institutions have maintained an active partnership through various initiatives, including the dispatch of Mie University students to summer schools and the acceptance of UMT faculties and staffs for training programs. Today, UMT is considered one of the key partner institutions in Asia for Mie University's Graduate School of Bioresources.
This ceremony was held as part of the "Higher Education Week" event at the Malaysia Pavilion and featured the exchange of MoUs between Malaysian universities and universities in Japan.

セレモニーに先立ち、UMTからProfesor Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Bin Ibrahim 学長、および Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Fadzil Mohd Akhir 副学長、そして三重大学から金子聡 理事（グローバル化担当）および中島千晴 生物資源学研究科国際交流委員長と懇談の場を持ちました。
懇談では、これまでの両大学間の協力関係の振り返りや、今後の更なる連携強化について意見交換が行われ、学生および教職員の相互交流の発展に向けた前向きな議論が交わされました。
三重大学は今後も、アジアをはじめとする国際的な大学との連携を強化し、グローバルな教育・研究活動の推進を図ってまいります。
Prior to the ceremony, a meeting was held between UMT Vice Chancellor Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Bin Ibrahim, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Fadzil Mohd Akhir, and from Mie University, Executive Vice President Dr. Satoshi Kaneko (in charge of Global Affairs) and Prof. Chiharu Nakajima, Chair of the International Exchange Committee of the Graduate School of Bioresources.
During the meeting, the two universities reviewed their past collaborations and discussed the potential for further strengthening their relationship. The participants engaged in a productive exchange of views regarding the expansion of students and faculties mobility and other joint initiatives.
Mie University will continue to strengthen its partnerships with universities worldwide, particularly in Asia, and remain committed to advancing global education and research.
