在大阪・神戸インド総領事館ご一行が本学国際戦略機構を訪問されました / Delegation from the Consul General and an Assistant Senior Officer of the Consulate-General of India in Osaka and Kobe Pays Courtesy Visit to the Organization for International Education and Research of Mie University

2026年8月20日（木）、在大阪・神戸インド総領事及び次席事務官が、本学国際戦略機構を訪問されました。
On Thursday, August 20, 2026, the Consul General and an Assistant Senior Officer of the Consulate-General of India in Osaka and Kobe visited the Institute for International Education and Research at Mie University.

当日は、インドと三重大学との間における研究者交流や学生交流、共同研究・コラボレーションの可能性などについて幅広く意見を交わしました。
During the visit, we had a fruitful discussion on various opportunities for collaboration between India and Mie University, including researcher exchanges, student exchanges, joint research, and other forms of academic collaboration.

インドの学生にとって、日本は留学先として関心の高い国の一つであり、アメリカ、カナダ、オーストラリア、ニュージーランド、ドイツなどと並んで選択肢の一つとなっています。一方で、日本語を学ぶ必要があることが、日本への留学を考える際のハードルの一つとなっているとのお話もありました。
For Indian students, Japan is one of the attractive destinations for studying abroad, along with the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Germany. However, it was also noted that the need to learn Japanese can be one of the barriers for students considering studying in Japan.

三重大学では、今後、同時翻訳システムの導入を検討しており、言語面での負担軽減を図るとともに、修士課程・博士課程では英語による学修が可能な環境も整えています。また、留学生を対象とした奨学金制度なども活用しながら、インドからの学生の受入れや交流のさらなる促進を目指しています。
　Mie University is considering the introduction of a simultaneous interpretation system to help reduce language barriers. In addition, the University provides an environment in which master's and doctoral students can pursue their studies in English. We also aim to further promote the acceptance of students from India and strengthen student exchanges by making use of scholarship opportunities for international students.

今回の訪問を契機として、大阪・神戸インド総領事館とのつながりを深めるとともに、インドの大学・研究機関との研究者交流や学生交流、共同研究など、今後のさらなる連携につなげていきます。
We look forward to building on this visit to further strengthen our relationship with the Consulate-General of India in Osaka and Kobe and to promote researcher and student exchanges, joint research, and other forms of collaboration with universities and research institutions in India.
