留学生日本語弁論大会で、人文学部2年のキム スンファンさんが学長賞を受賞しました Mie University Student Wins President's Award at Japanese Speech Contest for International Students

12月13日（土）、四日市大学で開催された「第２２回 四日市大学留学生日本語弁論大会」において、人文学部2年生のキム スンファンさん（韓国出身）が、最高賞である学長賞を受賞しました。
On Saturday, December 13, the annual Japanese speech contest for international students was held at Yokkaichi University. Kim Seung Hwan, a second-year student in the Faculty of Humanities from South Korea, received the highest honor-- the Yokkaichi University President's Award.

今年は四日市大学から5名、鈴鹿大学から1名、三重大学から1名、計7名の留学生が出場し、日頃の学習成果を生かした流暢な日本語でスピーチを披露しました。
A total of seven international students joined this year: five from Yokkaichi University, one from Suzuka University, and one from Mie University. They delivered speeches in fluent Japanese, showcasing the results of their daily efforts.

キムさんは、大学の授業で大会を知り、以前参加したスピーチコンテストの経験を活かしたいと考え、「韓国のジェンダー格差」をテーマに発表しました。準備では、大学の教員や友人からアドバイスを受けながら、特にイントネーションに注意して練習を重ねました。
He learned about the contest through a university class and decided to take on the challenge, hoping to build on his previous experience in another speech competition. His presentation focused on "Gender Inequality in South Korea." During preparation, he practiced extensively, with particular attention to intonation, while receiving advice from faculty members and friends.

受賞を受けて行ったインタビューでは、「優秀賞は期待していなかった」と最高賞に驚く様子をみせながら、「学長賞をいただけて本当に嬉しかった」と受賞の喜びを語り、今回の経験について「今後、人前で話すさまざまな場面で役立つと思います」と振り返りました。
"I didn't expect to win," he said, expressing surprise at receiving the top award, and added, "I'm truly happy to have received the President's Award." Reflecting on the experience, he commented, "I believe this will be very helpful in future situations where I need to speak in front of others."
