駐日バングラデシュ大使が本学を表敬訪問されました /Mie University Holds Courtesy visit with the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan

2026年1月19日（月）、駐日バングラデシュ大使が本学学長を表敬訪問されました。
On Monday, January 19, 2026, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan paid a courtesy visit to the President of our university.

当日は、本学に在籍するバングラデシュ人留学生も同席し、和やかな雰囲気の中で意見交換が行われました。
Bangladeshi international students currently enrolled at Mie University were also present at the meeting, and the discussion took place in a friendly and open atmosphere.

三重大学では、これまで毎年複数名のバングラデシュ人学生を受け入れており、現在は7名の留学生が在籍しています。懇談では、これまでの留学生受入れの実績や、留学生の学修・研究環境について紹介がなされました。
Mie University has been welcoming several students from Bangladesh every year, and there are currently seven Bangladeshi students enrolled at the University. During the meeting, the University introduced its track record of accepting international students as well as the academic and research environment provided for them.

近年、バングラデシュでは、日本語とベンガル語との言語的親和性に関心を持ち、日本語を学びたいと考える学生が増えてきていることが紹介されました。こうした現状を踏まえ、今後はバングラデシュからの留学生受入れをさらに拡充し、教育・研究分野における交流を一層深めていきたいとの意向が示され、両者で前向きな意見交換が行われました。
In recent years, there has been growing interest in the linguistic affinity between Japanese and Bengali in Bangladesh, leading to an increase in students who wish to learn Japanese. Against this backdrop, both sides expressed their intention to further expand the acceptance of students from Bangladesh and to deepen academic and research exchanges in the future, engaging in positive discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation.

今回の表敬訪問を通じて、本学とバングラデシュとの人的交流の重要性が改めて確認されました。三重大学では、今後もバングラデシュをはじめとする海外からの優秀な学生の受入れを積極的に進め、留学生一人ひとりが安心して学び、活躍できる教育・研究環境の整備に努めてまいります。
Through this courtesy visit, the importance of people-to-people exchange between Mie University and Bangladesh was reaffirmed. Mie University will continue to actively promote the acceptance of outstanding international students from Bangladesh and other countries, and to enhance educational and research environments in which international students can study and thrive with confidence.
