Mie University Office in Thailand (Thammasat University)

On July 16, 2009, an opening ceremony for the "Mie University Thailand Center for Education and Research" was held at the new office in Thammasat University, Thailand. Representing Mie University, Prof. Mamoru Matsuoka, Executive Vice President and Prof. Hiroshi Ehara; and representing Thammasat University, Prof. Dr. Surapon Nitikraipot, Rector and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somchai Chakhatrakan, Director, Institute of East Asian Studies attended the ceremony. This Center is set to be the one to perform international activities efficiently between universities in Thailand and Mie University, and we hope it will help us expand our mutual exchange activities and collaborations in the future.

Mie University Office in China (Tianjin Normal University)

Mie University concluded the Agreement on Double Degree Program between the Faculty of Education, Mie University and the Institute of International Education and Exchange, Tianjin Normal University (China) since 2006 and conducted mutual exchange activities. Since 2005, we have set an office to conduct Double Degree Program, and after Prof. Hye-Sook Park, Executive Vice President, Prof. Norio Yagi, Dean, Faculty of Education and Prof. Hiroto Akimoto visited Tianjin Normal University. They had a fruitful discussion with Prof. Gao Yubao, President of Tianjin Normal University, Prof. Zheng Yinghua, Director of International Office, and Prof. Shinji Higaji, Professor Emiritus, Mie University, to expand not only their exchange activities involving the Double Degree Program or Language Study Program but also International Internship Program and Field Studies.

Mie University Office in Korea (Sejong University)

On August 17, "Mie University Korea Center for Education and Research" was opened to promote academic and educational activities of Mie University in Korea. Representing Mie University, Prof. Atsumasa Uchida, President, Prof. Hye-Sook Park, Executive Vice President, and Prof. Shigeru Kodama, Dean, Faculty of Humanities, Law and Economics visited Sejong University. Representing Sejong University, Prof. Woo-Hee Park, Rector, Prof. Eom Jonghwa, Director, International Students and Scholars Office, and Prof. Ki-Hwan Park, Electrical Information Engineering (Director, Mie University Educational Research Center in Korea) attended the opening ceremony.

We will promote Japan-China-Korea "Triangle Exchanges" through the collaboration between Mie University, Tianjin Normal University in China and Sejong University in Korea.
